We also have a fulltime Yearbook Publishing Coordinator to guide and assist you in the process. Gone are the cut & paste days and the hours of layout time required to create student panel pages. Our publishing program leaves you time for the creative side of yearbook design.

To School Principals
If you are a school principal, we understand the need to deliver an affordable yearbook that showcases your school. First, our photographers will photograph your teams & clubs to showcase your programs in the most professional manner.

Second, we'll provide your yearbook sponsor with a library of candid photographs that showcase your students and help portray the unique personality of your school.

Our Yearbook Reservation Form features a pricing grid that clearly demonstrates the cost per book and the change in cost if you add or delete pages or if you increase or decrease your yearbook print run. Once your price to parents is set, we'll help you publicize the yearbook by providing customized yearbook order envelopes..

To Yearbook Sponsors
Whether you are a first time yearbook sponsor or have years of experience, managing your school's yearbook can be a challenging assignment. Our publishing program is designed specifically for elementary-age schools. It's simple to use yet provides all the features you will need to create a beautiful yearbook. In addition, our full time yearbook publishing coordinator will assist you in the process.

As an elementary school yearbook sponsor, your help might consist of volunteer parents, fellow staff or students. That's why our program walks you through the process, helps you to parse the book into delegable segments and provides for step-by-step deadlines that help you complete the book in a logical sequence. We'll help you publicize the yearbook by providing customized yearbook order envelopes. We'll also help you capture the spirit of the year with candid photography services and pictures of your teams & clubs.

Yearbook FAQ's

Q: I am interested in publishing a yearbook with Splendid Portraits.
A: Contact us.

Q: I'm ready to get started, how do I start?
A: Once you sign on with Splendid Portraits, we'll provide you with a Yearbook Publishing Kit containing all of the ingredients you'll need to create a yearbook. Our Yearbook Publishing Coordinator, who supports the process, will be in touch with you shortly thereafter.

Q: When is our cover due?
A: Our Cover Deadline is December 1st. This gives us time to send you a cover proof and begin production of covers before the pages of the book are due.

Q: I ran out of yearbook supplies.
A: Contact our Yearbook Publishing Coordinator and we'll send you some more.

Q: What is desktop publishing?
A: Desktop publishing is using desktop publishing software to create your pages. Since we create your student panel pages, you can submit the remainder of yearbook pages as montage pages (cut & paste) or if you feel ambitious, on Adobe Photoshop or both!

Q: Do you have an online yearbook creation program?
A: No. We believe that most Yearbook Sponsors would rather have more control over the process and not worry about the speed of your DSL connection or buggy web software. Our yearbook program is much easier to use and much more reliable than a website-driven program that puts all the work on you.

Q: How are yearbooks priced?
A: The number of copies (your print run) and the number of pages in your book combine to calculate your yearbook price. Our unique Yearbook Reservation Form contains a pricing grid that allows you to understand the cost impact of adding and deleting pages or increasing and decreasing your yearbook print run.

Other factors may influence your price, too. For example, the type of binding (perfect binding or saddle stitch), inside cover printing and hard covers. To get a quote for your specific yearbook, contact our Yearbook Publishing Coordinator.

Q: How many copies should we order?
A: We suggest you look at last year's sales as a starting point. Since you don't need to make a final decision until March 1st, we suggest you get as many pre-orders as possible and add 15%.
